The facts are crystal clear. The man crossed state lines with an unregistered weapon to participate in a political protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin. When the protest turned into a riot, he found himself confronted by another person wielding a weapon. He first pointed his gun at the person.
But Kyle Rittenhouse shot him in the arm before he could pull the trigger. The person in question is Gaige Grosskreutz, member of the People’s Revolution. Grosskreutz, who was arrested on charges of domestic violence, prowling, trespassing, two DUIs, a burglary and two charges of carrying a firearm while intoxicated, traveled from Illinois with an illegal handgun and then went been a key witness in Rittenhouse’s trial, inadvertently casting the charge by admitting that he aimed his gun first.
If the news about crossing state borders with an unregistered firearm, etc. sound familiar, that’s because it was the media’s much-repeated allegation against then-17-year-old Rittenhouse. The charge was a lie about Rittenhouse (he got his AR-15 registered in Wisconsin) but true about Grosskreutz who did not have a license for his gun. Yet Rittenhouse was, as might be expected, the person accused by Wisconsin state prosecutors, not Grosskreutz.
Another high-profile lie internationally was that Rittenhouse shot three black men. (All of the victims were white males with criminal records. One survived.) Or MSNBC Joe Scarborough claims Rittenhouse extensively sprayed bullets. Or that Rittenhouse was a known white supremacist and the episode was an assault on BLM supporters.
Or that Jacob Blake, whose police shooting inspired Kenosha’s spasm of violence, was an innocent father killed by cops. Blake, who is alive, was not, as the media described it, another black urban saint like George Floyd, but a sexual assault convict who attacked police and then attempted to escape in a car. fly with three children. As we wrote in August 2020, “To celebrate this creep, downtown Kenosha was burned down, businesses destroyed, at least two people killed and $ 2 million raised.”
For these reasons, consumers of the liberal media watching the Rittenhouse trial were bewildered by the discrepancies between the evidence and what they had been continually being fed by their favorite talking heads on television. the media could do is get the facts to convict Rittenhouse. But when the US president prejudges these facts, there is more security in the company of liars and cover-ups online. (The Canadian media happily picked up on all of Rittenhouse’s lies and broadcast them for free.)
The tendency to take sides continues in nearby Waukesha, Wisconsin, where a career criminal named Darrel Brooks drove his SUV through a Christmas parade of children, families and grannies, killing six people and injuring dozens more. Because Brooks is black and said smart things like âKNOCK WHITE PEOPLE DA FUC-OUT,â this mass murder is getting something less than the overall Rittenhouse coverage from your mainstream media. Page 22 in The New York Times. Is the Washington Post call an “SUV-caused tragedy”? Go figure it out.
We have entered a time when stories replace facts in reporting. The newspapers reject stories to the contrary or only do white-against-black crimes, not the 94% blacks who murder other blacks. Twitter bans troublesome searches or videos that upset the Covid establishment. Donald Trump is the most vivid example of Big Tech making a non-person for his questioning of the results of the 2020 presidential election. There are dozens more.
In a typical Canadian example of news censorship, a recent CBC PEI report of a handful of positive Covid cases (none of them hospitalized) drew comments on its website comparing the rigorous efforts of the ‘PEI to stop the virus with those from Florida where the state has been open for some time. Comments have been removed. The same was true of a CBC survey of why the comments were bare. Standards and practices, you do not know. But Biden’s defamations of Rittenhouse remain on CBC media.
The difference from ten years ago is that the media have succumbed to the missionary drift of self-worship. Where once the stories were put together to create an image of the news of the day, the stories are now assembled to support a pre-established image. The one who flatters the cult of journalists by their moral superiority.
So what is this story? Is it racial? Fluidity of genres? Binary? All the foregoing? The new reality is the class – a generation of educated whites, many in the knowledge, government or media industries. Their opinions of Woke are like the electric cars, private schools, summer cottages, pink pussy hats, and other traps they pile up to cement their top status. Talismans of their importance.
The hallmark of the new journalism – rooted in Trump’s tenure – is likely to flatter these people by hitting less educated whites for their gullibility and lack of class consciousness. Witness Stephen Colbert, Samantha Bee, SNL.
As Barack Obama so wittily pointed out, these are the people who “hold on to their guns and their religion“, making them perfect targets for pranksters like Howard Stern who is, apparently, now tired of liberalism. âI was free, but I am no longer. Stern said. âI don’t feel good about what’s going on in my country. Maybe I should run just to clean up the damn mess. “.
Kyle Rittenhouse, whose tears were called white privilege, was the perfect embodiment of the 75 million “guns and religion” people who voted for Donald Trump in 2020. So Rittenhouse, not the black type of sexual assault Jacob Blake, served as a show trial for people looking for the latest hot catch.
Biden’s plummeting polls seem to say that, at least in America, the media’s means of dividing cultures are not working. But the 12 months to the mid-term of 2022 is a long time in politics. And the media have their ways. With facts being a fungible commodity, we wouldn’t bet that the crop war escalates before it cools.
